Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how GolfNex LLC ("we," "us," "GolfNex"), an Illinois limited liability company, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the GolfNex mobile application or related services (the "App").
The App is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed), and profile details when you create an account.
- Authentication identifiers: if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a unique identifier and the email address associated with that account from the provider.
- Booking and gameplay data: reservations, tee times, simulator sessions, scores, handicap, average carry distance, and other golf statistics you generate or input.
- Payment information: when you make a payment, your payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: messages, support requests, or feedback you send us.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage data: screens viewed, features used, session duration, and similar interaction data.
- Location data: with your permission, we collect approximate or precise location to show nearby golf facilities, enable on-course features (Shot Radar, GPS scoring), and route you to your booked bay or tee time. You can disable location access in your device settings at any time. Disabling location may limit certain features.
- Crash and diagnostic data: when the App crashes or encounters an error, we collect technical information to diagnose the issue.
1.3 Permissions We Request
- Location: to find nearby facilities and power on-course features.
- Notifications: to send booking confirmations, reminders, and account alerts.
- Photo library: requested by certain third-party software components but not actively used to collect or upload photos in the current version of the App.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
- Process bookings, payments, and refunds.
- Provide app features such as nearby facility search, shot tracking, and group scoring.
- Send you booking confirmations, reminders, and account-related notifications.
- Monitor app performance and fix bugs.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising.
3. How We Share Information
We share information only as described below:
- Service providers: we share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the App. These include:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Google — sign-in authentication and analytics
- Apple — sign-in authentication and push notifications
- Sentry — error and crash reporting
- Cloud hosting and email delivery providers
Each provider is permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.
- Golf facilities: when you book a bay or tee time at a partner facility, we share the booking details (your name, contact email, booking time, and golf-related information needed to fulfill the booking) with that facility.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting naren@golfnex.com. Some information may be retained in backups or as required by law (for example, transaction records for tax purposes) for additional time before deletion.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices
- Access and update: you can review and update your profile information from within the App.
- Delete your account: request account deletion by emailing naren@golfnex.com.
- Disable location: turn off location permissions in your device settings.
- Disable notifications: turn off push notifications in your device settings.
- Marketing email: we may occasionally send service-related emails (booking confirmations, account changes). These are necessary for the service and cannot be opted out of without closing your account.
7. California Residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") provides you with the following rights regarding your personal information:
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share.
- The right to request deletion of your personal information.
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights.
- The right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
To exercise these rights, contact naren@golfnex.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact naren@golfnex.com and we will take steps to delete that information.
9. International Users
The App is intended for use in the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
